This morning the students took part in Brush-O-Mania! A dental hygienist came to visit and taught the students the best way to brush their teeth. She brought examples of foods that have sticky sugar in them, as well as healthy alternatives. The students each have a toothbrush of their own which they used to "brush their teeth" for 3 whole minutes during the presentation!
Each student has a small tube of toothpaste, a toothbrush, and sticker in their backpack. At snack time the students were a lot more conscious about the sugar they were eating and the importance of brushing their teeth at home!
During centres this afternoon one of our ECE students set up an underwater zone on the carpet. The students had fun playing with the toy fish and learning more about underwater animals.
At the art table, the kindergarteners used glue to make seashell creations. Many students gave their seashells googly eyes!
Our reading centre has become the new home of Ms.Blakely's poems from the entire school year. A.J and M.A worked together to read the poems, just like we do every morning at circle!
By the end of centre time, the reading corner was a popular place to be! Students could be seen "playing teacher" and reading books to the class.
