A Firefighter

Today we had a VERY special visitor come to our class. The students didn't know a thing about it, so it was a BIG surprise for them. Fireman John spoke to the students about fire safety, smoke detectors, calling 911 and practicing how to exit a building that is on fire.

Fireman John also showed the students a movie that was called: "Sparky's ABC's Fire Safety". Then Fireman John brought out a very special visitor: SPARKY! The students were thrilled to meet Sparky and had many questions for him.

On Monday, we are going to write thank you cards to Fireman John. What a great opportunity for making writing real for our students.
